“I’ve always wanted to open my own physical therapy practice,” said Big Moves Therapy and Performance owner Dr. Sam Watson. “I want to change how people view physical therapy. You don’t and shouldn’t wait until pain is debilitating. You can be proactive and work with a physical therapist to address pains that could result in greater injury or more serious impact if the pain goes untreated.”
Dr. Watson, who is certified in Dry Needling and Pelvic physical therapy and has a Master’s degree, is a doctor of physical therapy, said she wants to provide the Greater Topsail Area with education so that patients make the best choices for their health and the health of their families.
“I have four goals for my patients,” said Watson.

• Experience what physical therapy should be
• Achieve real, long-term results
• Empower patients to improve their health
• Educate give tools and knowledge to continue
Watson’s practice serves all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, with issues from vertigo to strength and conditioning.
Education is important to Watson and she conducts classes for parents and babies, prep workouts, and more.
“Every active human is going to have aches, stiffness, cranky joints, and/or irritated muscles at one time or another; and it will continue to happen every so often as they continue to be an active individual - and it will happen for a wide variety of reasons. What each person chooses to do when this occurs will determine the outcome,” said Watson.
“The first step is EDUCATION. If they know they can address an issue as soon as it starts, it will prevent a snowball effect of other issues.”
