Lori currently serves as Communications Director at Safe Haven of Pender and writes for the Pender-Topsail Post & Voice newspaper. A Wilmington native and Hampstead resident of 30 years, Lori brings a background in education and a deep-rooted passion for community service to her work. She uses her voice to advocate, inform, and uplift through both her professional role and her writing.

CAROL O.
WRITER

Carol has been a native of Topsail Island since her family moved there in 1955. She is the author of the Topsail Island Trilogy, (an historical work of fiction beginning in the mid-1930s), the Murder by the Sea series and the Blue House series, all set on Topsail. She has also created several children’s coloring/story books.  

TAMMY P.

Tammy spent 23 years in the newspaper industry in Northeast Ohio where she began as a features writer and concluded her career as an executive editor (don’t let that impress you). In 2011 Tammy and her husband Jim moved to Hampstead full-time. Tammy flunked retirement and went to work for the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism.

Lori is a writer, speaker and Life Mentor who helps encourage, empower 
and equip women to take control of their busy lives. She resides in Ohio but has enjoyed the Topsail Island area as her vacation escape for many years. When she needs a peaceful moment, Lori enjoys sensational sunrises and sunsets, or cozy coffee chats with friends. You can follow her

Julie is a seasoned graphic
designer with a special appreciation for the storytelling facet of her work, and the special collaborations she has had the opportunity to be a part of.  Julie loves all things creative and when she is not working, she can usually be found with a glue gun or paint brush in hand.  Beyond the creative, she also enjoys kickboxing and spending time with her beautiful family.
